  Biographical Information

 

Douglas Boyd was born and raised in South Africa...studied technical and fine art before immigrating to the United States in 1969...worked mainly in the architectural field before he formed Douglas Boyd Services in 1987.

Doug has studied calligraphy with most of the biggest names on the calligraphy " who's who" list....

  •    His graphic design and calligraphy work have been sent out both nationally and internationally

   and have received excellent reviews. Doug is highly recognized as a contemporary lettering artist

   for his traditional and cutting edge calligraphy work.  Sought-after instructor in design, layout,

   calligraphy and hand lettering.

  •    His work has been published in Letter Arts Review, numerous editions of The Calligrapher's

   Engagement Calendar, the lettering and calligraphy book "The Art and Craft of Hand Lettering"

   by Annie Cicale, Somerset Studios and various other Regional Journals and Publications.

  •    His work has also been exhibited widely in juried shows both on the West and East Coast, and is 

   in private collections.
